Woodfield Accommodation


The Shearer’s Quarters at Woodfield, has to be one of the quirkiest, homely places to stay along the Great Victorian Rail Trail.

The accommodation is embedded with a long history dating back to the 1870′s where Rabbit Hunters, Shearers, Cooks and workers would live and stay at this working farm that was originally thousands of acres.

The cottages have been restored, there is a common kitchen, male and female bathroom amenities and a fantastic camp fire area.

The rooms are clean, simple and rustic and at $50 per night it is the most affordable and unique accommodation experience along the Great Victorian Rail Trail.

The Shearer’s Quarters sleep 13 in total but there is always heaps of room for tents or camper vans as well.

Located right opposite the rail trail on the right hand side, exactly 10kms north of Merton it’s easy to access and find.

The Accommodation is pet friendly and is ideal for horse riders, bike riders and groups.

The Woodfield Shearer’s Quarters also cater for functions and parties and have hosted many a wedding.
